Checking in

Busy doing things with words (or possibly to words - they do seem to be cowering in a corner and whimpering at the moment).

Suffering from the heat (this is Scotland, dammit, it has no right climbing into the 70s).

Checking out...

The 70s? THE 70S?!?!?!?! We are going to be 100 today with a heat index from 110-116!

Is writing a discipline? If so then it would seem that sometimes you must make the words cower. Mine are just begging me to stop and I think I've crossed the line!

Yeah, but this is Scotland. Such temperatures are unnatural.

As for those poor words. They thought they'd seenthe back of me years ago, but one of my publishers wants new editions. Crashing of mental gears to get my head from the fiction I've been working on back into academic mode.

Cogs and other bits of machinery seem to have broken off in the process.

Good to hear from you - now get back to the words. Good luck!

Good luck beating the words into submission and I hope it has cooled down for you.

A slight breeze today, and tractable words as well.
